Video shows progress made on £16.9m Loughborough Town Deal

A new video shows progress made on the projects under the Loughborough Town Deal.

It showcases some of the work going into 11 projects chosen to benefit from the £16.9m fund, which is provided through Levelling Up investment.

The ‘Delivering the Deal’ video has been produced to detail the Town Deal team’s ongoing efforts – as well as what has been achieved so far.

Loughborough was invited by Government to bid for Town Deal funding in 2019.

The bid was backed by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) and co-chair Andy Reed OBE sits on the Town Deal board.

Investment comes from the Government’s Town Deals initiative – which aims to regenerate town centres, boost businesses, and improve infrastructure and connectivity.

In total, 100 places around the country have been invited to bid for funding. Overall, the deal is expected to bring £40m in investment into the town.

Some projects have already been delivered, including the new Careers & Enterprise Hub, in Market Place, and a revamp of the area around Devonshire Square.

Meanwhile, SportPark Pavilion 4 was recently opened at Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park.
