Full house: All places reserved on IP webinar for creative businesses

2

All available places have now been reserved on a webinar next week covering intellectual property for creative businesses.

The free session has been organised by the Intellectual Property Office and Leicester and East Midlands Creative Coalition (EMC²).

Unlocking Creativity: Intellectual Property for Creative Industry Businesses takes place on Monday October 2.

It will offer start-ups and SMEs the opportunity to learn more about protecting intellectual property.

Spots on the free two-hour session, specifically aimed at the dynamic creative industry, are all booked up – with a number of firms already on the waiting list in case of cancellations.

Organised under the EMC² banner as part of the East Midlands Create Growth programme, the webinar will explore various types of IP.

These will include trademarks (brand names, logos), designs, copyrights (creative works), patents (inventions), IP abroad, and trade secrets (confidential information).

All businesses own intellectual property, whether it be trading name, the look or the function of products created, or the brochures or websites used to promote them.

Attendees on the website will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of IP in the creative industry
  • Learn from expert speakers and real-world case studies
  • Have their IP questions answered during an interactive Q&A session
  • Access resources from the Intellectual Property Office to boost IP knowledge.

EMC² is a community of business support and creative organisations from around the East Midlands.

Members include local authorities, universities, local enterprise partnerships, and many other organisations in the private, public and voluntary sector.

The coalition came together through its successful £1.2m bid for the Government’s Create Growth Programme.

The bid was led by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP).
