Summer 2023 has seen the successful launch of the local Careers Hub 5 year impact report at the Careers Hub Summer Celebration event hosted by the LLEP and held at Castle Mead Academy.

The Careers Hub Summer Celebration brought speakers from business, education and the LLEP Youth Advisory Board (YAB), to share key learnings, cross sector networking and highlight successes since the Hub’s inception five years ago.

The report recently endorsed by Baroness Nicky Morgan, showcases how the LLEP Careers Hub has worked alongside the Careers and Enterprise Company towards a national goal of enhancing careers education. It demonstrates the local commitment to give young people the skills and experiences needed for the modern workplace and why Careers Hubs are a vital part of the support system.

By engaging with this work you can increase your talent pipeline, develop your middle and aspiring managers as well as grow community awareness of your business. It is an opportunity to expand your local network while collaborating with like-minded local businesses to influence future careers education and support opportunities for young people. If you want to be part of an exclusive network set to shape the future workforce and local economy, get in touch.

All maintained schools and colleges are within the network and working towards excellent careers programmes through bespoke and practical solutions created by the LLEP Careers Hub team. The LLEP was a successful first adopter of the Careers Hub pilot programme in 2018, boasting some local initiatives that are now being replicated on a national level. The timeline within the report gives an overview of achievements from 2018 to 2023.

There is quality engagement from a diverse network of Enterprise Advisers – leaders from the business community who freely give their time and expertise to engage with educational institutions and young people. A point of inspiration, knowledge and a real-life representation of what is out there, this energised network is set to continue growing in both size and influence. Business sectors involved range from logistics, artisan food producers to vehicle manufacturing, home furnishing retailers and many others in between.
