Blaby
Blaby district covers an area of 50 square miles and is located to the southwest of Leicester City. There are some 25 towns and villages in the area with Blaby being the largest.
The north of the district is primarily urban and five settlements adjoin Leicester’s city boundary.
The south of the district is more rural in nature with people living in a series of villages. The area around Junction 21 of the M1 (where the M69 joins) contains some key employment areas – Meridian Business Park, Carlton Park and Grove Park.
The district is also home to Fosse Park, one of the most successful out of town retail parks in the UK. Significant employers in Blaby district include Santander, Next, Centrica and Leicestershire County Council.
The district also hosts the headquarters of all the emergency services.
