DMU Headshots. Ismini Vasielou

The LLEP’s Digital Skills Partnership lead will host an event at Leicester Business Festival focussed on UK digital strategy.

De Montfort University Leicester’s event will provide insights for businesses on enhancing or retraining their workforces and identifying fresh talent.

Dr Ismini Vasileiou, Associate Professor of Information Systems and Director of East Midlands Cyber Cluster and Strategic Leader in Digital Skills, will introduce the event.

Entitled Addressing the UK Digital Strategy through the Digital Skills Partnership, it takes place between 2pm and 4pm on Tuesday November 7 at DMU’s Innovation Centre.

There will be an opportunity for networking and refreshments after talks and presentations.

The event will also offer participants the chance for participants to explore, gain knowledge, and actively engage in discussions about how the education sector and businesses can gain from enhancing, retraining and accessing digital skills.

DMU Digital Skills leads will also outline methods for collaborating with local educational and training institutions, emphasising emerging prospects like T Levels and Digital Apprenticeships.

Delegates will:

  • Access valuable insights on the benefits of enhancing digital skills for businesses
  • Learn about effective ways to collaborate with educational institutions and tap into emerging prospects
  • Learn to lay the foundation for a future-proof strategy by identifying current and future digital skill needs.

The Digital Skills Partnership’s work is funded from the LLEP Growing Places fund to address digital poverty and encourage digital growth to support post-pandemic economic recovery.

Tickets for the event are free.
