Digital Buddy’s needed. Are you available for a few hours in the daytime each week? The WEA are looking for volunteers of all backgrounds to support people who are of working age. Who are unemployed or on low incomes to continue development of their digital skills over a period of 3 months or more.

As a Digital Buddy you will guide and support students to use digital devices and improve their basic digital skills.

The WEA is one of several local projects that the LLEP recently awarded grant funding to help address Digital Poverty. This forms part of the WEA 3 Digital C’s project.

Activities that you would undertake would be as follows: You will help students to get online safely, encourage them to attend our digital courses and connect with the community. We will provide you with comprehensive training that will enhance your own skills. You don’t need to be a technical expert but if you are enthusiastic, patient, reliable and would like to make a difference, please contact Diane Johnson on 0116 2556614 or email djohnson@wea.org.uk

This would be a great opportunity for you to give something back to your local community and develop yourself positively while making a difference you can see happening.
