Business Carbon Literacy Training now available

Business carbon literacy training short courses now available. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.

The LLEP are taking a holistic approach to low carbon investment, with the ultimate goal of a carbon-neutral economy in Leicester and Leicestershire by 2035. To read more on the actions we have committed to under the Green Economy including low carbon leadership and renewable energy select here

Helping you understand how you and your customers can benefit and how to access support. The context of carbon reductions and what climate change means for your business in the long and the short term, and why you should be taking steps to reducing your emissions.

Carbon Literacy is: “An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”

By the end of this Business carbon literacy training, you will:

  • Understand and explain the science around climate change and how it affects us globally and locally.
  • Have the tools and knowledge to reduce the carbon impact of your business.
  • Build your own climate pledges to take action on climate change.

The event will be delivered by Alice Jackson, Academic Engagement Officer, University of Leicester & Christiane Startin-Lorent, Owner of Lorent Training

The training is being delivered collaboratively between De Montfort University, the University of Leicester and Lorent Training, working with the East Midlands Chamber and with support of Leicester City Council.
